Pope Benedict today imposed the pallium on 45 archbishops, including Philadelphia's Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.
A symbol of the archbishop's responsibility, the woolen pallium was placed over the shoulders of each archbishop by the pope during a Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome today, the feat day of SS. Peter and Paul.
Read Pope Benedict's homily at the Mass, and check Vatican Radio's broadcast of his meeting tomorrow with the metropolitan archbishops who received the pallium.
See yesterday's CatholicPhilly post below for more on the pallium.
